So this summer I bought the new DVa-5200 in-dash DVD player. It has a glitch that really irritates me -- the subtitles are ON by default each time you put one in. No way to turn them off permanently; only with the remote each time you play one.

Then last month they came out with the DVA-5205. Same device, but without that glitch, and they made a couple other bug fixes. The dealer says he can't swap mine out, even if I pay an upgrade fee. I guess I've been in the software industry too long, but this seems to me a BUG FIX and not an upgrade, I should get the new deck. Grrr.

Just venting,

Sorry, but people who can afford that in dash DVD

shouldn't be allowed to complain to all of us who can't!
Sorry, it's just not fair. I hate being married to a miser....... She yelled at me for a $50 MOMO shift boot......

somehow explain to her that it's a "safety item"..ya know...
bigger tires = more traction = safety
FSTB = more stable = safety
car back exhuast = old one was bad..replacement..
you get the idea..

I've tried that route.

She then tells me it's safe the way it is, otherwise the factory would have put it on already.....
BTW acitrano, that is a beutiful car you got there....

show her the article from NTSB about the crash damage for a 95 Max. i think it rated pretty poor.
sorry to bring the bad side out...but if she saw that you'll be getting either a new car or a lot of goodies..
