Keyless entry not working

I bought the Valet 712t, I tried to put it in lastnight but its not working. The only thing I have working is the bumper lights flashing for the lock and unlock feature. I hooked up the 12V, ground, power lock, power unlock, ignition, horn honk, and parking light flash. Is there another wire that should be hooked up?

When I hit the lock or unlock button, I get lights flashing, and the lights on the window switches flash as well, but the lock does not do anything and the horn does not honk. Any ideas?

I believe the max has a two pulse setup for the unlocking and locking and you have to setup a relay for it to function properly. As far as the horn I dunno.

I thought the relay that came with the kit was for the trunk pop, which I am not hooking up because I have a cable pop. Are you thinking I should run wires from the brain to the relay then from there to the door?

Dont listen to this newb, only unlock is a double pulse, and its a programming option, no relays are needed.

when I bought the car the dude that had it before me had already hooked up some sort of after market alarm/keyless entry system on the car so he had already tapped the lock and unlock wires (I check the wire colors on the diagram and they matched up) and ran them back thru the door to the lower left kick panel. So I assumed his connections were good and I just reused them. So the spices that he made were right under the driverside window switchs. I can hear a click from the brain when I press lock or unlock, like it wants to do it but nothing is happening at the door or horn. For my connections I am using those clamp style wire spices, which I thought should be fine for this gauge wire. The only one that I hooked bare wire to bare wire was the red to 12V because the 12V wire is fatter than the others.

if using t-taps check to ensure they are making a good connection. Unlock requires a double pulse which is usually a programming option in most of DEI's products. Also DONT assume the wires are right TEST THEM. Get a test light and hit them make sure the switch is plugged in or else it work work. When testing unlock wire hit the wire twice and it should unlock.

I plan on picking up a test light this weekend. Where do most people get those? I asked a radio shack the other day and they did not have them.

Actually I saw them at Pep Boys yesterday. The better ones were made by actron or whatever, the same company that makes the orange OBDII scanners that Autozone uses. They seemed to be good quality.
