4-active is great and all, but does anyone seriously relize that you now need to find a place for:
-Tweets
-Horns
-Midranges
-Madbass Drivers
as well as having 2 - 4 amps in order to run 4-way active? Do you realize how much work setting that up would be?
Not saying it wouldn't be nice, but the amount of work/money needed to do such a thing > me

If you were to do a 4-way active setup, you'd want a 3-way active front stage (2 tweeters, 2 midrange, and 2 midbass) and a sub(s). You'd need 6 channels of amplification just to power the front stage and one or more channels to power the sub(s).
If you don't have the ear, time, and/or money, just stick to passive crossovers. It's ALOT easier.

Amplification isn't that hard. I have a 5 and a 4 channel amps in my trunk and I still have more than enough room to use the trunk how I normally would.

I added the 4 channel amp about 1.5 months later. Got really lazy and just bolted it to the back of the seat

4 way active = 3 way active front stage, plus sub.
