Can i get a piece of tubing and run it from my port to the OEM sub hole in the rear deck, make sure it's airtight and expect a nice bass boost? Is that the idea of running port into the car?

Niko my boy the installer, he paged me with Infinity Perfect 5.1 or Kappas or Boston Acoustics Pro50. He says there both good but he prefers the infinity.

Which one would you guys suggest.

The HU I don't know yet he's still looking around for that with the EQ.

I grew up with this guy I've known him for over 15 years he is a professional Aduio installer and I'm the Car Tuner. So he's really returning the favor. He gave me about 10k to start with I searched for his motor built him B16A swapped it in his CRX put forged pistons complete head job crower race cams sleeved it added an HKS turbo Full EM and so on and so on. I got it Dynoed and layed 369whp at just around 22psi.

So I know he's going to get me the best for my money. I think that's one hell of a deal for what he's getting me and including the install.

I told him to get me a HU that plays TV DVD and MP3's that I can upload from my computer at home. He said that I'm still going to need an EQ to fine tune the whole system.

Damn since you seem to know it all what's better than Boston Acustics or Infinity?

So you think I'm getting ripped off $1700.00 for a TV DVD MP3 HU, EQ, Comp speakers and including install along with the custom made box that's he's going to make as soon as I figure out what kind of sub to buy.. .
Damn let me know if you can beat that I'll deff holla at ya.

I believe as far as we were concerned was that you were getting speakers and a radio...no mention of a tv, etc. maybe I could be wrong. I think Don will recommend Rainbows.

rainbow, Bostons, MB Quarts, alpine, infinity. thats my opinion although I would only consider the 1st 2 options in my car. We are doing the best we can but you are jumpin the gun on some issues...give the org some time to help ya.

If your guy is hooking you up so much he should have you into something like Rainbow,DLS,Dyn,Morel,DA,etc, etc. Although by the sound of it, he isnt even familiar with any of these.

crushes them all.
As for
TV DVD MP3 HU, EQ, Comp speakers and including install along with the custom made box
Dependent on brand, I can say that you would spend in the neighborhood of just over 750 for a decent touch screen, dvd, mp3, that comes to mind and will be available next month. Not off brand at all.
Comps
50.7cs INFINITY KAPPA 5 1/4 COMP SYS 163.00
PER 5.1 KAPPA PERFECT 5.25 COMPNENT 212.00

That is my wholesale cost on those units. Again I dont get a huge break on all lines and this is from one of my higher priced guys but hes closer so it saves me alot of shipping.
So looking right now at the NEXT Level if he does you up with a panasonic hu/touch screen, a set of 5.25 PERFECTS not Kappas, then your looking at under a grand. A custom box is 125 if I dont like ya and a highline eq(Audio Control I like em) can be had for about 150 judging, or do the DQS for 300. Now if he hits you with last years closeout models or something its even better.

With the perfects, the pana, the box, fully digital 1/3 octave eq, you should be around 1200~1300. You still havent discussed rear speakers, sound deadening, amplification or anything along those lines.
To me
I would say
Get with don in reference an arc amp, a set of QUALITY fronts, some rear coaxes if you like, that pretty in dash arc eq, and do a standard screen with a seperate dvd player or ps2. That should keep you close to the same area and have you sounding better than the setup im envisioning now...but i dont know too much till you post more info

I don't know. I don't think its really THAT bad of a price, minus the crap speakers, and not knowing what kind of HU and processor he'll be using.
