amp shutting off dont know why HELP please!

ok heres what i did today.....

i replaced my rear speakers in my 01 maxima (non bose). i ran new speaker wire to an amp in the trunk.

the speakers in the doors are infinity components and the amp is jbl.

everything is wired right, amp turns on and works fine but if i turn up the volume on the radio the amp goes into protect mode. if i turn the volume down and the gain on the amp up it goes into protect mode. the speakers arent even getting that loud, no where near putting them in any type of danger.

anyone have a problem like this?

I don't know how experienced you are with this stuff.. might sound stupid but check the ground to make sure it's not loose or is in a good location and the area is properly sanded down... bad ground could cause this

Check ground, but this sounds like either A) a problem with the amp or B) the speakers are not wired properly/loose, or C) some other wire is loose i.e. ground.

Recheck your speaker connections to make sure they are not comming in contact with any metal.

i used under the rear seat one of the bolts for the ground, its secure. its not the amp b/c i hooked up another amp and it did the same thing. everything is wired right +/- everything is in line and theres no metal touching. im not a pro at this, but im pretty knowledgeable, and my friend did it with me and hes probably better then i am.

Check your speaker leads. They may be grounding out somewhere.

Ok I had the same problem with my subs and amp install. I swore that all my connections were right, but after carefully studying the wiring diagram i realised that my connections were all wrong. I recommend that u sit down and carefully read the diagram that came with ur speakers and map it out. If it makes any help draw that damm thing ur self. Its always best to relaz when ur doing something like this cause then it comes out all wrong. Just my opinion.

At first i swore that i got 4 ohm subs. So i wired the subs parallel thinking i was getting 1 ohm. I later realized when i saw the box were the subs came that they were 2 ohm subs so when i wired them parallel i had 8 ohms all together. So i had to go in series., but before that i caught my self swithching wires to the wrong terminals. I was tired and fustrated and tah caused me to do dumb ****. luckly I didnt mess up my amp.
