Hello. I "had" a BOSE in my 95, now im ridin silent. sad i know.

Im looking to purchase another BOSE but I heard 97-99 Dont play Burned CD's Very well. IS THIS TRUE?

MY old 95 BOSE would only play Memorex CD's

Not Sony's

Just get an aftermarket unit. The CD-R's will kill the CD player in time. My Bose HU died from constantly playing CD-R's. I believe the manual states not to play burned CD's.

Theyve all got one problem or another, whether its not reading CDs, skipping, channels cutting out, sub cutting out (in 5th gen), etc, etc. Bose is crap, so I say +1, to go aftermarket.

Haha yall are serious arent ya. I ALREADY TRIED THAT.

I purchased a 05Kenwood MP3/CD728 HU>
I also purchased the NIS2-OEM1 Adaptor to run to my bose.
Sounded Sooooo junky and Escort-ish, I was very disappointed and upset.
**It also blew out both rear BOSE speakers....not cool.

I know my 95BOSE HU played burned cd's fine. My friends 99 didnt very well though.
MacAlert::I dont think they had burned CD's in 95...how'd that get in the bose owners manual??wait... u gotta 03'... hmm.

ANYONE ELSE KNOW A GREAT IDEA.....
see if i get a Alpine well say, then i need door speakers, then ill need a decent amp... then ill have spent another 4bills on the max... and im due for a new engine really soon then a s-charger....

Do you really need a SC? IMO, you should just change out the whole system. But then again, I have an '03.

Does he NEED an aftermarket stereo? He can just get a bose unit and be done with it And also what's wrong with your engine that your going to need a new one? I have 157k on my '97 and I would be willing to SC it in its current shape. No question about it.

my 97 with bose played CDR just fine, the system on a whole though just sucked so i junked it asap.

My 2002 bose doesn't like burned CD's that much, but then again it skips on all CD's

Your's doesn't but many do. All the ones I've used have worked with CD-R's. CD-RW's are a different story.
