is my amp killin my sq????

right now i have a single 10 in a sealed box. its an eclipse aluminum. my question is that i cant figure out why my bass doesnt sound good. i want the bass drum or kick to be more loud the the car shaking bass. it seems like the kick get lost in the bass and is almost delayed. only rap sounds good and to be honest ive grown out of rap lol. i listen to basically everything and i want my rock songs to actually sound good. do you guys think its my amp. its a audiobahn .... like the a800t thing or wateva.... ive tried messing with all of the settings on it and im still not satsified.... any suggestion or is a sub just not good for "real" music....

10" sub in sealed box should shine for what you are looking for. try this: turn off all bass boosters, etc on the radio. put the low pass filter on the radio and amp to about 80hz. turn off all loudness features or processing features on the radio. let us know...and also face the sub towards t he rear of the trunk.

Sounds to me like you oughta try a good component set in your doors with some dampening and a powerful amp to it.

Then worry about the bass and getting rid of the audiobahn. Focus on a frontstage first.....
