HELP.. Lost All Audio (due to stupidity)
Well, my cassette deck has been making unrelenting noise for awhile now. Today I was having some "company" in the car, so I was trying to manually stop this constant grinding noise by jabbing a pen into the the cassette deck assembly. Ive done this before, but this time I heard a moderate pop sound through the speakers, and I lost all audio completely. All the mechanisms are still operating on the head unit, just no audio. I checked all the sound-related fuses, all good on that end. Did I snap something inside the head unit, or did I do something worse? I had been getting an interference noise in the speakers whenever this tape deck noise was occuring, so i'm hoping that all I need is the new head unit (i bought one already anyway, just too lazy to put it in). Am I justified in believing the head unit to be the culprit of my problem, or am I in for bigger issues? (the system is all stock BOSE btw). Thanks in advance.
Fuses is a good place to start. Although dont forget the one undewr the hood. If one is blown your new HU will not work at first, so definately check there prior to installing it and panicing.
