Power inverter problems
I recently installed a power inverter to power my ps2/xbox whatever i have in the car at the moment.
Now, ever since i installed it, i hear a crazy loud whine/buzzing sound whenever the power inverter is turned on. Right now it is running into the cigarette lighter. I tried connecting it directly to the battery using alligator clips, but it was still there. Then i tried connecting it to a extension cable going into my house. The sound went away. The sound is only there when the inverter is turned on and the ps2 is plugged in. If i disconnect the ps2 from the inverter, the sound goes away.
What can cause this problem and how do i fix it. It is driving me crazy that i cannot play ps2 or watch a dvd without this annoying sound. It gets louder as the volume gets higher. It does it whether or not the car is on, and it is not alternator whine because it doesnt not whine with the engine revs.
ANY help would be GREATLLLLY appreciated.
thanks in advance.

Well, the sound is coming out of the speakers. It is a loud annoying noise. Whether the car is on or off.
Also, the inverter has a light on it. If it has perfect voltage it stays green, and when the voltage drops below 9, or goes above 15.5 the light turns red and starts to blink. The light is always green. I am pretty sure it is not a voltage problem because of that indication.

Well, the reason i am eliminating the grounds, is that i put the inverter directly to the battery using alligator clips... and it was still there. Thast about as good of a ground you can get , right?
Would my alternator dying casue this problem possibly??
