A new tripod and flash are on my list

but the tripod probably wont happen for a long time unless a deal pops up

Don, you could also try this
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...=197010&is=REG
which would allow you to mount your kit lens (and any other 58mm thread lens)

It will also send all the lens info to the camera.

these do the same thing, minus the sending the camera info
http://www.chriscamera.com/south/reverse.htm

except I don't see a 58mm EOS mount, but shouldn't be too hard to find one

I would give this a shot
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search
and buying this lens
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search
heheheh

Looking for suggestions on a small digicam that will allow me to take great "night" shots. By "night", I mean little to no background lighting, but the main subject matter will be quite bright (LED products my company offers). Something in the few hundred dollar range would be ideal, as I plan on picking up a nice SLR sometime in the future and want this strictly as a stopgap measure until then, but will continue to use it for portability at shows. Best Buy and Circuit City availability are not limiting factors as I will more than likely pick up the camera from an online shop to save a few bucks.

eh honestly, i had that camera and returned it after a week. its a great camera and it takes awesome pics when it catches it. but it has no viewfinder, and alot of times because you havet o hold in up in the air like that its not very stable and becomes very shaky. and $500? DAMN. i got mine for $350.
