SUB SELECTION: Finality

Looks like I accidentally bid on two auctions for the same sub

Now the proud owner of 2 15 Inch dual 2 ohm voice coil Diamond audio TDX's

How the hell did that happen? Late at night I guess. I was working out a deal on an eclipse Titanium and logged into ebay to check something and noticed id won two auctions although i only remember bidding on one

now i got to find a single sub box design or second amp to push the other one..Anyone want a woofer

nice! I'd def just keep one, two will be very hard to keep up with for SQ and kill your trunk real estate...

yeah im going to hold the other for reserve in case the unthinkable happens or someone makes me an offer, EVEN just a lil better than i paid
want to go with a total enclosure volume of about 2.25, but the woofer depth is killing it. 9.49 may have to angle the sub in the box

yeah...my crap *** components are the last piece...im contemplating just buying them now...

Doug, have you used a large setup like this in your trunk? Only reason I'm asking is because for instance I feel theres a sweet spot in my trunk where the subs sound best when rear facing...an inch forward and the response changes for the worse...Now having 4.5+ cu ft in an enclosure will limit you in some ways as to placement and what you can do...
Dual 2.25" sealed cubes would require a separate enclosure for each to be able to even get it in the trunk as well I would imagine...

Marco has dual ported tdx 12's in his 5th gen with close to that volume and you'd need a chainsaw to get that box out in pieces

I'm with Gordon...Heck I've heard single 15" setups with as little as 600rms that would satisfy many a bass head for daily driving.

However, If you are feeling motivated by all means entertain me- it would turn out pretty sick I'm sure

VD Providah,
You have pm.

Manny
This car is an attempt to stay away from all things Stevie says, its obvious he is the devil J/K, but yeah ill be sticking with one. To give you an idea, im a reformed basshead (Last setup was 4 twelves (JL W6's, and prior Orion XTRs) with two tens sealed in the rear deck for when the subs were off. Prior was 6 10w6s on some zapco mono old skool amps, and it just goes on and on). Im working to make this one a Non SPL vehicle with all around clean sound for my road trips and city beating. My current is one obnoxious kove armageddon 12 so hopefully output is at least equal to that. When i get back from deployment i may still go with the dls sub i was looking at before i stumbled across these...

Im looking at my speaker choice being upgraded now even more due to selling this other sub, the xtant 403, and just drop some extra on the front staging ive been questioning don about for the last few weeks. I have the money to do it just dont want too...yet...

Machinehead I hit you with a plus one for that post.

i was running my single 15 sealed in the old max, output was more than sufficient. two would be slight overkill IMO, and like Manny posted in one thread, finding good front soundstage to keep up with all that bass might be a bit difficult.

yep. 600 watts + ported 15"= sufficient DD system. I am glad I'm not the only one when it comes to how the bass sounds in this trunk. I notice a significant difference in sound with even a slight movement of the box forward. perhaps some cancellation issues in the maxima trunks eh?

I don't know if he gave ascendant your message, but tatanko gave me yours. I only touch puppies then they try to bite me, got it? lol

I think the 1 15 is more than enough, and you should keep the other one for that JUST IN CASE moment. But either way, you should enter bassheads anonymous.

I was working a deal on an eclipse titanium, I bid total for the two the price of the titanium from another forum member like a week ago, it had ended without me knowing till i got to work and checked my email.

and for the important stuff i go the dealer certified route (Expensive components) but on some things, its easier (IE where the hell would i find some xtants from 99???)

Hopefully my warrant packet gets picked up and this time next year Ill be sweating my **** off in the warrant officer candidate course in alabama.
