Sound Deadening...on the other side?
I have about 20 sq. ft. of sound deadening in my car in various places that I put in, just for little minor aids in helping sound (stock Bose - needs all the help it can get). I have some on the backside of all 4 doors, as in, on the metal.
My problem is, thanks to the added bass and what not from the deadening on the actual door, the interior door panels rattle on the front 2 doors where the speakers are. It gets incredibly annoying because it completely ruins the sound coming from the speakers.
Now for the question...is it logical or sensible to put a single layer of deadening on the backside of the interior panels? Would this alleviate my problem? If not, I won't bother.

Hey Pat I know what you're talking about, you can deaden the panels, and see if it helps, most likely its the plastic speaker mount. You can pull out the speaker itself and deaden the plastic inside. Give it a shot

Hmmm...I wish this was something easy to take a picture of. Pull out the speaker itself, you say? You mean just the cone?

Yea just pull out the cone after you take everything off.

Your best bet is to only put a little behind the speaker itself, and the rest on the front part of the door itself. The purpose of sound deadening in the doors is to reduce road noice and remove speaker backwave, making the speaker louder and cleaner.

Put the leftover scraps of deadening I had laying around on the inside of my speaker mounts. It lined them nicely. Got rid of all my annoying vibration in there. Still need to do the door panels themselves, though, way too much bass coming from the speakers.
