Yes, lots of us have done it, it's pretty easy really. Just look in the stickies for the dash take apart how to. My upper screen fit perfectly up top and the lower screen required a small shim in between itself and the HU to hold it in place. The plug for the lower screen is a stretch but it will reach...

Forgive my ignorance on this matter, but can a color tv screen be used to simply replace the stock non-nav screen? What additional equipment/wiring would then be required to make it a functional nav unit?

Well in my case, I have a computer in the trunk which is connected to my touchscreen. In addition to full gps navigation, I use it for Mp3, AVI, MPEG, DIVX and DVD playback. I also have a TV tuner installed and am contemplating a rearview camera and xm. You will need to get a pac unit if you want to connect anything through your stock hu.

Replacing Factory Non NAV w/ LCD/DVD

Viri-

I replaced my double DIN 6 CD in dash with a Clarion 7 inch flip screen thats a single DIN that fits into a double DIN dash kit. I had it installed professionally. I did have to buy two adapters, one is for integrating the steering wheel controls with the after market unit and the other adapter allowed me to continue to use the Bose speakers in the max already. When looking for a in dash LCD/DVD/NAV I used Crutchfield.com as a reference and bought it somewhere else and saved 50%.

Any of you who have done the screen mod can tell me how do you keep the screen in place. For example if glue was used or screwing down the hardware?
