Weekend was special...To say the least...

Welp as indicated, made the drive up to NYC this weekend hung out a little in DC beforehand. Hit don up to find out if p/u the next morning was cool. He said yeah, so i hit I95 with visions of rainbows...Not those kind, Germaniums. LOL Either way, Hung out with my partner till about 445 in the am, then hit the road back down to edison. Got a room and racked out till close to 10. @ this point i figure im close enough to hit up don, bs for a short and then hit the road back to dc.

The best laid plans never go as we want. Needless to say don didnt answer the phone cause he was racked out not good joo joo on my part, so i decided to lay down a perimeter outside the house. Needless to say a 225lb black guy watchin japanese anime (Neon Genesis Evangelion for the win) at 1020 in the morning gets attention of everybody locally . Don calls me back like Ummm. R U Outside. He comes out like 15 minutes later and the day begins.

First thing he does is pulls the new speakers down, the box looks like it could hold a mini nuke or something. Turns out it isnt as well built as i thought as it ripped on the way out of the house (when i got home) to install em issed:, but the speakers more than made up for the cheap *** biodegradable box.

I finally got to hoop em up today and was ready to be blown away when i noted that one of the mids was grossly distorting. Called don and got the above average response that I should be PISSED. Told me to switch mids and go from there. As it turns out, there was a piece blocking the grill so on every hit from the mids it sounded like pure d ***. Needless to say the problem has been fixed and initial reviews taken.

WOW. Great sound good solid staging and definitely worth the hassle that I went through to pick them up. These havent been tuned as of yet, but Im plenty satisfied for the time being and have to say...Get on Board. Hes got em in stock and they are definitely worth the money. Especially if you have any external processing, i thik that that could definitely bring out the UnGodly in these speakers. I have yet to mess with the xover and just reading up on the configurations lets me know itll be alot more fun to come. Ill try to get some detailed pics of the xover in the am along with the rest
Pics will be posted in the am.

I Would have to say that I definitely recommend the germs, but have also heard one of those setup in dons car (The platinums? i think they were), needless to say, Their a good quality product and compe***ively priced for some of the other high end brands out. I have to agree and admit athat these crushed my expectations... Gold star for don.

I have em on the camera, damn usb is in the office, so ill post em this am. Yeah. I called the night before to set it up, but didnt consider a time, so i checked out, and was upfront like DEEE DEE DUM....twiddling my thumbs and shyza.

Yeah...I thought one of the mids was blown for a minute, when i pulled it and swapped it noted that the screw had broken and pushed the mid up so it wasnt sealed on one side, so it was basically flapping. Needle nose, five minutes with my hot glue gun and all i can say is wow....With the tweets hooked up the set is completely different...Its amazing. With my diamonds you could run the mids alone and it was alright. I had to run yesterday before putting the door panels *with the tweets* back in, my wife was like EWWWWW...As soon as the tweets were wired in,...Me and Mrs. Jones has never sounded so good... Im thoroughly impressed

I did find another toy i want but I dont think that I have the space for that arc processor don has...it is sexy though ...

Thanks. Have to manufacture a block to tilt the front of the box up a little and do the trim pieces. The high amp will go in the open space to the right when i finish all the other bs ive been going through with moving.

Yeah...I wanted the profis but they came with a four and a six so ida been stuck redoing the kicks and I am short on time so I went with the one with the xover functionality. Its cool, I would have liked to do a setup with 8s in the front but didnt want the processing hassle so....

Really werent that bad. Ive seen the single mid mb quarts go for considerably more locally. Im satisfied with the price although it was a little out of the range i was looking to spend at the time, knowing that i wont have to worry about swapping for a ''better sounding set" in a year (Infinities, Momosx2, Eclipse,Diamonds, Kickers) and those are just what ive run this year that ive had the car. It really saved alot of time as well.

Dont feel bad, the Platinums come in the same shoddy box, as well as the multi thousand dollar References......haha you'd expect an aluminum suitcase or a wooden box at a certain cost level- oh well , the speakers are ******* and thats all that matters.

Actually the References come in a nice bulletproof suitcase. But yes the Platinums for what they cost should certainly be in better packaging.
