Stock Bose Sub Cutting Out

Stock Bose Sub Cutting Out
My stock Bose sub on my 5th gen is cutting out at medium-to-high volume and will only come back on if the volume is reduced to medium-low. This problem started about 6 months ago and I have not changed the bass settings or the type of music I listen to. I have taken the amp and sub assembly apart and there are no obvious component failures or solder anomalies. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Please don't clog the replies with "Ditch the Bose" or "Blose Sux". I am looking for legitimate answers only. Thanks.

This is a common problem with Bose and can only be remedied by a replacement unit.
That being said, If you're out of warranty, your money will be better spent with an aftermarket head unit.

Correct, although some people have experienced problems with the Bose sub itself. Do you have a local friend that you can swap your sub out with to see if it is the sub?
Prior to spending money on a HU it would be best to ensure which piece of equipment is the culprity

Prior to spending any money I suggest finding out which piece of equipment is faulty.
That being said, the masses here seem to prefer Eclipse Head Units, for their sound quality, craftsmanship, and superior warranty.
