The new Pioneer AVIC-Z1....

I know this will be moved, but this is for the guys that are installing these types of systems in there 6th gens, so it is on topic for us, and not to be lost in the audio forum, which rarely gets visited by people here. This is a heads up on what i am thinkng on getting.. It cost about $2250 for the thing, but look at this clip that will load (56K beware???) on the site itself..

AWESOME!!! is all i can say.. here it is./. http://www.cnet.com/4660-11405_1-6413241.html

hope you guys like the tid-bit info if you are thinking on putting a system / NAV in your car this is the one to look at.. 30GB/10gb for use (onboard HardDrive) of data is alot..

Supposed to be out Mid March

I like that they now added the cd/dvd drive right into the HU, that's why I stayed away from the D1 originally. The one draw back to mine which this covers is the ability to store all the NAV info in the HU instead of having the disc in all the time. And I had hoped they updated the IPOD controls for this one but it looks like they still haven't pulled their head out of there a$$es based on the Pioneer site:
"the AVIC-Z1 controls the iPod Adapter as an Unexpected unit, with some limitations in display and operation. Consult the owner's manuals for more details"

They are really missing it on this feature for sure!!!
All in all a really nice unit, I couldn't be happier with my N2, good luck!

More info from Pioneer:http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...etailComponent

Looks pretty too!

I know that's because I deleted them....covering my tracks!

I like the N3 and I paid $999 for mine, probably should have waited...
It looks like the only real update though is the IPOD control and some features that are easier to use than on mine.
I think I'm going this route for the IPOD when it comes out anyways. With some modding for use in the car and my upper 7" screen this seems like the most user friendly route to go.

where did you get your N2 from, thats a good price.. i am really considering the N3 now instead of the Z1.. the Z1 is awesome, but might be way too much.. the N3 would fit nicely...
