battery importance?

battery importance?

hey guys, is the type of battery important for your audio system in the car? Cause I have just a basic AAA battery in my 92SE. I was thinking about getting one of these http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/S...8040/SFV/30046

If these would improve my sound output, which one should I get? I'm gonna be running an Eclipse 2 channel (50 watts RMS x 2) amp off an alpine deck to power up a pair of Diamond Audio coaxials.

May not affect sound output but will be much better for your electrical system. However, with the amount of power you'll be running it is not necessary to upgrade.

The package does say "Max" on it, so it must be for a Maxima!

Are you getting any dimming now? Consider upgrading the big three, and if you are looking into a deep cycle battery and wanna save some money, go to Costco and get their in house brand Marine Deep Cycle battery. Avoid Optima Yellow tops, btw.

I agree... unless you're running a High Current amp and dropping the ohms down to something crazy like 1/2 ohm, you should be ok stock.

If your lights are dimming, look into a 1farad stiffening cap which should ease the strain on your electrical system or possibly even into an aftermarket alternator which has more output.

I do not suggest getting a capacitor. Upgrade your wires and battery.

You can't bring up optima yellow tops on ECA without getting this type of response. Keep in mind that the people ******* them are mostly competitors and/or people in the industry, not the salesman selling them to you or the dude down the street with bass, that tends to think whatever they have is the best.

I was gonna suggest against the cap too....

Another thing I love about the Costco deep cycle is the extra mount besides the terminal. (WINGNUTS!)

Oh two more things about Costco and getting a battery from them.

1. If your battery does go dead for some reason, they have about the best return policy of anyone. I left one outside on the concrete for a few months before putting it in, so it had died (didn't know you weren't supposed to do that). It looked like crap, I had no receipt, I was "accidentally" a little off when telling them how long ago I got it (they have the record on your card). They simply asked if I wanted another one or wanted a credit towards my account. Got another one and it's done great since then...If I remember right these batteries are like $55 or so...

2. Beware of this scam going on in Costco parking lots!

Just to clarify... Upgrading your wires, battery, would definitely be a better route to take before jumping into a capacitor. When i had my high end system, that was added in ADDITION to an aftermarket high output alternator, batteries, etc... then again, i was running my amps at 1/2 ohm load and they were infact high-current.

That costco parking lot scam happened to me too. Watch out. I picked up new wallets cheap at ROSS though
