Clifford used to be a top quality alarm system... then DEI got a hold of them. Unfortunately for me, I picked up several units that were made after the switch, and I've had nothing but issues. I'm not talking simple things, I'm talking processor lockups that require reprogramming by the factory. Eventually I'll design my own alarm, but until then I'm stuck with this piece of crap!

Hmmm never had a problem here with either pre or post DEI.

My comment applies to their entire line, at least up to the IntelliGuard series... I haven't played with their G4 series, so I cannot attest to its quality (or lack thereof). After I installed multiple IntelliGuard 7000 units that had problems, I gave up on them.

Another issue I've had... failure to unlock the trunk. Not only does the remote button fail, it locks up the stock in-car button so you're forced to use the key. Sometimes it goes away on its own after a few weeks, other times it seems to be permanent (requiring a factory reprogramming).

Your mileage may vary...
