all i hear is bass

i got an alpine SWR-1242D sub and a alpine mono MRD-M605 amp and stock speakers...this system pretty much sucks right now since all i hear is bass and rattling. i spend a good amount of money on it since i bought it awhile ago but right now its making me upset since the sound sucks. the bass is overwhelming

what speakers/componets should i buy? to tell you the truth im a super noob in audio and i dont even know whats the difference between components/speakers or how many i need? or if i need a seperate amp for them? i know i havbe two speakers in the rear and two in the front wow

First of all, your car looks awesome.

Now on to the good stuff. Anyone can recommend something too you, but they would first need a budget and what type of music you listen too. This will allow us to make better suggestions for your specific application.

As far as the rattling, check out the deadener sticky at the top of the main Audio Forum page. You will find it usefull.

PM, Pearl96Max (Don). I am sure he can work something out with you if the order has been placed.

Considering your budget, I would go with the SLC265's up front and the kx 165's in the rear doors. I recently installed this exact setup and was very impressed. With the GD, you should stay within your budget as well.

i still have some questions guys

do i need to buy anything except an amp and speakers..such as wiring or any kind of little boxes with the flashing lights? i honestly don't know what they are called.

i installed my amp and sub myself and it was fairly easy. installing speakers is much harder or same level?

do i need to know anything else? im planning to do the install myself so any tips would be good

WHat you need depends on if you are using the stock HU or not.

So far you are going to need speaker wire (about 40ft will do), power and ground for the amps, a remote wire (length depends on amp placement), the amp, and speakers.

If you are using the stock HU, you will need a Line Out Converter (LOC), this will not be needed with an aftermarket HU.

my hu isnt stock

so basically an amp wiring kit will do again? i used a rockford fosgate 4 gauge wiring kit that i got from best buy. it was over 100 bucks. i was thinking of getting like a 12-14 gauge wiring kit that comes with remote, ground and power wires. i hope that will be cheaper. any fabricating needed when installing speakers?
