Bose rear speaker issues
http://www.forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=465251
I just came across this thread today, and it got my attention. Almost 2 years ago now, I was driving one day, I had the music up and then the rear two speakers just cut out. I've pulled the headunit out and checked the wiring, checked fuses etc. and everything seemed fine. Honestly my car stereo is not a huge deal to me. But a .orger has their rear speakers/amp up for sale and I was considering getting them to maybe fix the problem.
Just wondering before I buy that though. Is each rear speaker powered by its own amp, or is there one rear deck amp? Because if there was one it would be logical that it could have gone out causing my rear speakers to stop working, but if there is two then that just doesnt make sense. Judging by that other thread, it would seem that a lot of speaker cut-out problems are due to the headunit, so simply replacing the rear speakers would do nothing in that case. Just wondering if anyone with more car audio experience than I (which would be most anyone) had any tips before I consider buying those rear speakers.
Thanks in advance,
Brad

When Bose cuts out, typically it is the HU itself, not the individual speakers/amp
And IIRC, for a 4th gen, the amps are integrated in each door with the speakers.
Therefore, get a new HU and your problems will most likely be solved, PLUS, your Bose system will sound better.
