I'de like to replace the Bose sub with an 8 or 10 inch sub in the rear deck. I'm looking for a sub that works well in infinite baffle applications.

Getting a 10" to fit is a b!tch. Lots of metal cutting, unless you replace the mounting plate with an MDF one. Even with an 8" you have to snip the metal.

I suggest an Arc Series 8"

Does the DLS OA8 come in single 8ohm only? The amp I had picked out is the Kappa FIVE which is 50RMSx 4 @4 ohms and @ 175RMS x 1 @ 4ohms. I think it will go great with the Kappa Perfect 5.1 and 6.1s. I hate to have to get a bigger amp due to the 8ohm voice coils.

Will it take much modification to make the DLS OA10 fit in the stock opening on a 5th generation? It says it is 4ohm and that would be just about the perfect fit. I'm worried that my installer is going to hate me for having to "customize" my read deck and/or it might cost me extra money for the install.

My plan C is the Image Dynamics id8v3. Most of the posts I found that recommend it are pretty old though. After checking out their website I'm concerned that they are no longer designed for IB. I also am concerned that they won't have as much SQ with my choice in music since the frequency range tops out at 110Hz. Should I be looking for an older model id8v3? If so, any tips on how and where to find one?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

go with the Id8v3 from my experience unless you plan on having more than one sub the DLS OA8 or 10 does hit that hard. Either way anything you put in there that wasn't stock will require slight modification
