MB quart 6.5 component opinions...

i'm thinking of picking these up: http://cgi.ebay.com/MB-QUART-DSE-216...QQcmdZViewItem

or these:
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=12428

anyone used these or can suggest something else in the same price range and can handle 120rms?

i noticed the freq response of the mb quarts is alot larger and higher then the DA. opinions would be greatly appriciated.

thanks guys!

good luck, imho don't buy over the internet. I'm not sure but i believe MB quart doesn't allow any online sales. most companies don't. so wither you get lucky and get the actual product or you get a Profile speaker with mb quart stamp on it.

>175 look at a/d/s 246ix

or just stick with infinity/pioneer

Don't base your decision solely on power handling as even tho some speakers are rated at lower power ratings, they will take it all with the right x over.

Spend the extra bit of cash and buy the SLC's from the GD. They will outperform both options.

SLCs over either of the above 2, especially the DAs. WHo wants to spend that kind of money on a 3+ year old set of speakers, especially with no warranty.

so i went with something completely different...

i'm buying a pair of brand new CDT EF-61 6.5" CF components:
http://www.mmxpress.com/cdtaudio/efseries.html

These have a tweeter upgrade to a TW-25 silk: http://www.cdtaudio.com/SilkSoftDomeTweet.htm

An upgraded x-over to a SatNet 560i: http://www.cdtaudio.com/satnet456-642.htm

they should take 140rms each which works well with my 150x2 amp...so i'm excitied. and my old JL subs are going to be back in there sealed box, no more ported S**^, and i'm going to throw a new amp on them and crank em up to around 175rms each. i'm thrilled. time to make myself deaf.

hopefully it will sound as good as i have been told they do. the retail price for this stuff is crazy. i hope it's all worth it...

opinions?

Wow you really should have just gotten on the group deal for some GREAT speakers that would probably be cheaper in the end.... Sound line comps $220.... can't beat that.
BUT if you get these and like them and are fine with the money you spent that good, have fun, enjoy it.

EF-61 are a nice set of speakers. However I would still take the Rainbows lol. CDT seem mellow, not hollow like my MS6 can be sometimes but a bit too mellow

if you go Diamond Audio, go HEX. I had the m3 before the hex and there's a huge difference. That's assuming you can get HEX's for around 200$ a pair, but maybe you can't. Just a thought. I always hear good things about the rainbows.
