Good amp for 2 12" Arc Audio KARs

Just bought a pair of 12" Arc KAR subs. Whats a decent amp i can use to push them that wont make my wallet cry? I know something along the ARC line would be ideal, but there kinda up there in price at the moment.

as of box, im not sure which one i should be lookin at right now. Im coming from a 15" Kicker L7, so id like these to hit pretty hard and loud too so im assuming Ported box?

If your going ported you want maybe an arc kar 900.1, very well priced high quality stable to one ohm, AND has a sub sonic filter which is of major importance with a ported setup. This should run you somewhere in the vacinity of $4xx.00 maybe closer to $5xx.00.

I didn't realize how versatile that amp is until I read the specs. SSF, 1 ohm stable, great power delivery. Very nice amp!

lol, yea i know that philosophy, just find it hard to stomach that an amp to power the speakers, cost 2x what both speakers cost.

also more quick questions.

1) What would be your recommendation, sealed or ported?

2) Im assuming my old Kicker S15L7, will be louder hence the 1000rms and more surface area, but these Arc's would hit cleaner and more tight right? the 15 was kinda sloppy, especially w/ faster beats songs.

That's almost always the case though, unless you spend a lot on high end component sets.

1.sealed or ported depends on the type of sound you want...sq or spl?

2. your reasnong behind 'loudness' is a bit off. sometimes subs are overrated, underrated. surface area just means it can move more air...but you have to take into consideration the efficiency of the sub. yes, the arcs will probably hit cleaner.

I have a planet audio d-class amp. It's not audiophile grade, but it's got a lot of power for the money. I got mine off ebay for like $175 shipped a year or two ago (probably a little cheaper now). It's like 600rms@2ohms or like 750rms@1ohm. Plenty of power to get you by.
