I'm not much of an SPL'er, but I'd have to contend that being false. I can't see how a mass loader would insulate noice in a negative fashion, but I might be wrong...

...sound is simply a form of energy. By reducing the energy flowing to the roof and vibrating the hell out if it, it stays in the cabin.

i took them off to have a look-see about a week ago. i shoulda snapped some pics. looks like i can cram a fairly larged sized tweet back there. iirc the stocker is held in place by a single screw right in the middle of the magnet it looks like.

Ehhhhh...a good deal, yes, but you should use Second Skin Overkill for that.

Close to it, but not quite where I want it to be. I am going to finish the wheel wells soon before I give my final testimonial. The funny thing about deadening an entire cabin is that if you do it peicemeal, as one area is deadened, the non-deadened areas become more pronounced.

so road noise is mainly in the wheel wells? when i'm on the phone, my friends know when i'm going over concrete versus asphalt, or over bumpy roads...the noise is that bad.

so you would recommend overkill over damplifier to do the roof regardless of its intended application? I just want to quiet down the max and I figure deadening is "thicker" and would do a better job. the heat tolerance is only 225 degrees F and it gets real hot here in Fl I am afraind it might fall down over time.

Not likley to fail, my friend. For any area you want to deaden, I would recommend one layer of damplifier, 3 layers of overkill. I would have done it this way, but Ant was charging a King's Ransom for Overkill when I was doing this.

deadening things lowers its resonant frequency, keeping the panel from buzzing. buzzing = noise, but does add to spl on a meter. even though it will be lower on a meter, it'll sound better on the ears.

I just got my comp vr's in today and they sound really well.. I was suprised given there not broken in... says in the "manual" they take two weeks to break in at low volume..

My bro. used to have 2 JL 12w3's in the same size box, suprisingly they sound as loud as those...
