I would do it as a temporary thing...these are ED subs and the only reason I will let you buy this is because ID will make the $$$ and not ED. how'd you manage to blow the eclipse up? and where is the warranty?

hm.... i was reading another site and someone said this...."But, yes, front speakers will make a much bigger difference, infact having a sub with speakers can suck, because the speakers get the initial hit of the bass drum, and the sub gets all the woof, and it doesn't transistion well in a car." this is the exact problem i had with the eclipse.... i am however using stock blose for now with it.... mayb i should just focus on components first?

Make sure to send the Eclipse back to have it reconed. Still worth the money for that.

You should be able to send it back to Eclipse though an authorized dealer, and be able to have the sub serviced outside of warranty for a price, usually around $100. A few years ago when I worked for an Eclipse dealer, that was the case. You may even be able to contact Eclipse directly, and get an Return Authorization # to send to them for repair.
