i want a system & i know NOTHING about them

my next mod is a system. its been 3 years of rockin the stock bose and its time for a change. I dont know where to look for as brands, woofer size and all that go. i've been trying to educate myself and come up with package but im still clueless. all i've learned by searchin around is that 2 12"s would do best for a sedan. what are some of the best brands, what should i look for? what would you recommend. i dont want something crazy and yet again i want something above average quality. I know how my trunk visuals will be laid out but i need some help choosin the components. JL Audi? wattage? how many woofers?

some links would help or some of your personal experiences.

in short. i just dont want to go to an audio shop and hand em 1 grand and have em put a system in my car. i wanna go there and specifically tell em what i want !

ouch... so you want new front components, rear coaxials, a radio, 2 amps (or a 5 channel), sub/sub, a box, and wiring, wiring harnesses, etc? I would save up about 2 grand.

do you listen to more rock or rap? this might help determine sub size a little.

nope, not really. sub size has nothing to do with how it responds now-a-days with a decent sub. i can listen to rock or rap with my 15" and it sounds great.

yes, i know this. but i just have always enjoyed rock on 10's more than 12s. they seem to be more punchy and right on.

it was probably a mental thing. a good 12 or 15 will sound as accurate as a 10. cone size doe not equate to how it responds. the larger subs may be able to dish out the loooow notes better though.

VIP go listen to what you like in custom car shops, then buy the same or similar online.
