Antenna Question

I read a thread a while back that if i get a aftermarket headunit to replace my bose unit my atenna will stay up even when i'm not using the radio. Where as the bose unit makes the antenna go down when you're not using the radio. Is there an adapter that can make the antenna go down when im not using the radio?

Pioneer units are this way, you could wire a switch that will control the antenna if you get one of their HU's. My Alpine and Eclipse units had a dedicated power antenna wire that would only power up the antenna when listening to the radio.

Get a switch that will interrupt the power from the HU's antenna/remote wire to your cars antenna wire. When you want the antenna up, flip the switch. These can be found at any auto parts store, or Radio-Shack.

I have a Panasonic that will go up when I use the radio. I didn't like the way the car looks with the antenna up so I just unpowered the antenna wire (should be blue). That way it won't go up or down and plus we have an antenna built into our back glass anyways.
