Fixed the pain in the as* problem of relplacing rear deck speakers

I finally did it, I carefully cut with a razor knife around the speakers on 3 sides leaving the back toward the rear window in tact. Then peal up the speaker grill and all and voila, there are the 6.5" speakers in all their glory! When finished build up the level around the metal, I used plywood and glued it in place, and then glue down heavy duty velcro and close down the speaker grill. I used the loop section of the velcro to trim around the grill and hide the cut marks. To me it looks fine! Another good skinny is to use your razor and SHAVE the fuzzy material on the older 4th gens and this makes the deck look much better. Now you can change rear deck speakers anytime you desire with little or no problem.
I cannot imagine a dumber design than having to take the whole back of the interior apart to get to the speakers.

Wow so you cut your rear deck? All you ahad to do was remove 6 bolts on the back seats. Requires like 1 hour of time to do the whole thing. I wouldn't have cut all that up... no need. You made yourself more work.

I think part of design had something to do with security. A theif would need more than a philips screw driver and 30 seconds to steal your speakers.

To all of you lovely doubters;

Facing the rear window from the back seat I cut along the old bose speaker covers with a very sharp knife along the front and 2 sides leaving the back by the rear window uncut. Now the flap just picks up to the rear and closes down with velcro. I trimmed around the cuts with 1 piece of velcro and it looks great!
I did it because I hate stupid designs where you have to take apart your rear interior to get to a speaker.
No, I'm not worried about anyone stealing my speakers.
No I'm not lazy either!

If you're not lazy should have just taken out the seat instead of wasting time with something unnecessary.
