ED 6.5" Sub!

One of my friends puchased two of the new 6.5" subs from elemental design and I must say they are quite nice imo. I only got the chance to hear them for a sec. but I was amazed at the sound coming from the two little guys. One of our other buddies has one ported in the back of his truck and one of the installers he used to work with thought he was running a 12". I was jsut wondering if anyone else had heard anything good about these or had any experience because for $50 I was thinking of picking a few up just for sh*ts and giggles.

Probably the only thing ED I would buy. I would rather buy a single 8" or 10" for the rear deck than a pair of the 6.5's.

4th gens dont have a single 8 in the back

Xover on amp cuts it to 200hz or less so only bass. Otherwise the mids overpower the front

I'll still take 3 AA 6.5's for the same price.

My friend has an 8" sub from Soundsplinter. That things has some pretty impressive ouput. I was wondering how a couple of those would sound in the rear deck . May not be suitable for IB application though.....

they do look beefy...and alot like the old ED 8A which was actually a good sub. If they can be used for IB I say do it!

Evidently thats completely changed based on what I've read from other boards. The last 2 years they've really turned the ship around...or so I've read.

I have seen, witnessed, and had personal experiences with them for a long time. maybe NOW they are ok; but how about trying to keep a stable line of ANY product, in stock, and from the same buildhouse seems to be borderline impossible by ED.

I don't I might give them another chance, there might have been other circumstances in the previous setup that i had with them that made me dislike them.

Kev what do you have them powered by?

Video before the Raammat
http://media.putfile.com/ED-73

Digital Cam BTW

I got a new tape for the regular cam so I might make a better vid soon.

Also, it's tuned ONLY to play bass, mids/highs are comming from the front.

Hey Don, I'm gonna need some MDF rings for the soundlines and my dayton for the rear doors. Should I drop off the 7"'ers?
