5.5 gen w/ bose harness

I am putting a 2 din dvd/monitor in and originally i was gonna run with the stock BOSE speakers, so i got the PAC harness but then got a diamond 4 channel amp and RF components and coax, my question is, what harness should i use now that im bypassing the BOSE completly, should i still just use the PAC?

Youve got a few options. If you plan on running new speaker wire to the speakers, you dont really need to worry about bypassing or adapting anything. If you are using factory speaker wire, which I usually do and recommend esp in 5th gens, then you can either run your new speaker wires to the Bose amp outputs at the rear deck and use factory speaker wire from there, or you can do an amp bypass at the rear deck (Its simply 8 inputs and 8 outputs, 2 per speaker) and run new speaker wire to the head unit like any other normal installation.

edit: P.S. Its stErling mist, for your info at the left

this is, i dont wanna chop off the end of the stock Harness going to the orig HU, incase i ever want to sell the car put it back to stock. can i splice everything into the harness, (ie, all the speaker wires, ground, remote TOL, Power) aqnd then somehow disconnect everything at the stock amp? and hook it into the new amp? i think im a little lost......hmmmm

You dont just sound a little lost, you sound very lost.

For uninstallation purposes, heres what id do. Get yourself some t-tap connectors. Do an amp bypass at the rear deck, connecting the Bose amp's inputs directly to its outputs, so this way the speaker wire in the dash essentially goes right to each speaker, and the amp bypass can also be uninstalled and returned to factory spec in a matter of 10 seconds.
Now, get yourself a Nissan wiring harness for the dash. You will now have all your power and speaker wires to plug into with the aftermarket wiring harness.

ok i see, so can i just use a generic Maxima 00-03 Harness no matter if BOSE or not now huh. ok is the BOSe amp input/ outputs harness clips as well, that can just be plugged into one another? ok so once i do that then i can just take those eight wires and put them into the amp! aha! awsome man thanks so much homes

You still sound very confused. Yes, any Nissan wiring harness will work for the dash. The Bose amp has 1 plug going into it. It consists of the amp's power, the amp's ground, 8 speaker wire inputs (2 per speaker, 1+/1-), and 8 speaker wire outputs (again 2 per speaker, 1+/1-). To bypass this, like I said, youll need to buy t-tap connectors and connect the input wires to the output wires, all at the Bose amp. This way when you wire up the speaker wire outputs of the Diamond amp, you can run them to the head unit the same way wou would with any other installation.

Better yet, from the sounds of it, take it to a reputable shop.

This excellent idea deserved to be brought back from the dead. I thought of the same wiring scheme. My only question is regarding the t-taps. I don't see how they can be used to bypass the Bose amp by connecting the inputs to the outputs. A t-tap is a device used to "tap" into a wire but you then need a male connector on a lose wire to connect to your tapped wire. I think a 3M ScotchLok would be better fitted to join two wires like these inputs/outputs. Unless you are placing both wires into the t-tap and crimping them. but if you are doing this make sure you buy the largest t-tap so that it can fit 2 wires. I still prefer the ScotchLok method.
