Speaker install 2000 Max

Got some 6.5 pioneer speakers that i wanted to install myself. I took the front door panel off and the speakers are just a tad bit small for the holes. Is there a place where I can buy brackets to make them fit?
Also do I need to cut the white plastic off the harness and solder the wires together?

Sorry if these are basic questions but I am newbie, but I want to learn and do it myself if I can.

Thanks in advance

Bill

Make some MDF rings and mount them to the door, then the speakers to the rings. You have to space the speakers off the door anyway, so the magnet doesnt touch the window when you roll it down.

Cut off the white harness and go to town with the wires.

Ok thanks. Where should I go to get some MDF? Home Depot? How much do I need? Do I mount the MDF rings using screws?

Home depot. You can get a 3/4" sheet for like $6 or 7 (2ftx4ft)

Drill holes in the MDF, countersink them, and just use any screws...drywall screws are fine, if you press just hard enough they will go through the metal.
