well my last post about rewiring the amp is useless now... one of my subs smelled like burnt plastic, i took it out and looked, and sure enough 1 JBL is no more... melted the cone or something bad. so i want to upgrade to 2 12" subs and a new more powerful amp. i really cant go over $400 for now, just re-did the rest of my stereo. i got an eXcelon head with sub fade... any suggestions?? i was considering JL's, i like them, but what else is out there with an amp for that price range?? want pretty loud, but doesnt have to be crazy...

I recommend you try out the Kenwood DB subs. They are very good sounding subs for the price.

400 for an amp and 1 12in Adire Shiva (115 or so www.ampmanaudio.com, free shipping?) .. and you have nuff to buy a Lanzar 1200D .. (220 + s/h from www.national-electronics.com) .. if you run it at 4 or 2 ohms, the shiva should be fine. Just make sure the box is spec'd

Use the last 50 on box/thicker wires for the lanzar? Good luck.

Go with jl without a doubt. Even though they are expenisive there definitely worth it. Also even if u get 1 12 ur fine.
