Got some audio advise?

Hello. I have a 99 max Se with the Bose sound system and I’m looking to upgrade. I already have some MB quart coaxial 6.5” that I’m going to put in the back and I’m looking for the best speakers for around $200 to put in the front. They will be powered by a MTX amp that pushes around 50w continuous. I also have a 10” infinity kappa sub powered by an old Kenwood amp (40x4) that I’m going to put in the trunk. I plan on building a box for it. Any size or configurations recommendations that have worked well for you would be appreciated. Thanks.

You're going to run a 4 channel amp on the sub ? Ditch both amps, get a solid 4 channel run the rears bridged to the sub and the fronts to the comps. I would suggest getting a set of the SLC265's from Don, pricing is going to be between $220 and $260.

I guess I could run the rear speakers off the HU if I were to buy a new four channel amp for the fronts and sub. What would be the best amp to pair up with for around $300?

Hmmm for $300 you could probably get something very nice from Diamond, or Eclipse.

I have to sing the absolute praises of the JL Audio CL441DSP. Known as the CleanSweep this is an absolute must for those that want to or have to keep their stock BOSE system. It is a digital signal processor that basically removes the crappy factory equalization and lets you control the level with a ****. It has a calibration mode that analyzes the signal and adjusts itself accordingly. I have the stock Bose HU, amp, and highs. I added a Kicker ZX400.1 sub amp to a Infinity DVC 12" and it ROCKS (THUMPS) and sounds good with all music (except country, how would I know?). If you can afford it this is the only way to go. Send that PAC line level converter back and get a JL Audio CleanSweep.

If you want to order where I ordered from reply or email (bigboiajayi@yahoo) and I will send you the link the company is in PA. The cheapest I found this at retail stores was 399.00 on the Internet 349.99 and from MedTronics 299.99 and only 10 dollars shipping. You will NOT find it cheaper than 299.99 unless on ebaY!

The 'Dirty 30' - I have to post this message more than once. This unit is heaven sent, seriously. Does anyone know of something similar or is this the only unit.

Then you should also sing the praise of it not being effective in the Nissans...Waste of money.

sell everything you own (minus the mb quarts), in a package, including your stock bose speakers.

THEN, assuming you have ~500, build a system. Get some CDT/Infinitis/Focal/

Make sure you get an a/b amp for the speaks

get a little mono class d amp for your sub. i'd recomend an rli 12", id max, or alpine type r (need more rms for this tho), or a comporable sub. gluck
