Subwoofer Hookup

I have a 99 Maxima SE with a Bose headunit. I would like to hookup two 10" Infinity subs, but I am not sure what the outs are and what cords I will need. Can anyone help me, plus I will need directions about getting the head-unit removed.

Start reading the stickies. You need a standard amp wiring kit that comes with RCA's (or separate RCA's) and an extra set of 6 inch cheapy RCA's (female) that you will chop.

Get a Haynes or Chilton manual for $20-ish. They helped me ALOT when I did my system install. Note that the Chilton only goes to '98, but the 99 is basically the same. (I have the Haynes)

Just read the stickies, no need to buy the manual unless there's other work you plan to do.

Read the stickies. Wire colors are there.

Use the Bose turn on wire instead.

is that the only option? because i didnt really want to take out the headunit. im kinda lazy and i figured that the power wire in the rear would give the 12v power that the amp needed. it would be alot more work to run a new wire from the head unit to the trunk. but i will use the bose turn on if the rear speaker power wire is unsuitable

Before you use it, test it to see if its constant or switched. If its constant and you use it for a remote turn on, then your amp will always be on, which will drain your battery.

How far are you from Tampa/Gainesville? Theres an org member out there that I highly recommend to help you with your install.

And to add, taking out the HU is really not that hard or time consuming.

Alright, I don't know the geography of FL...

Let us know what your findings are. I know that behind the radio, remote turn on is white/green. It may be the same at the amp.
