does anyone how to solder and do that one mod?
is there a better way to go around doing this?
cuz im thinking of getting an ipod, but i dont want that tape adapter crap...

I am aware of the other Ipod thread, but it seems too bunched up, so I want this thread to be directed towards my '99 unlike from what i glanced was the 6th gens in the other thread.

....and if anyone has this same answer for a 2k2 maxi, let me know. Bose 6-disc in dash limits our Ipod options

I just bought a USA-SPEC iPod Interface from Crutchfield. It plugs into the rear of the Bose HU, instead of the cd changer. I answered all the Crutchfield questions and was told the PA11-NIS model is for '99 thru '05's with OEM Bose HU's with the cd changer capability. Crutchfield even sends the instructions to dissasemble the dash.

Connecting was extremely easy. However, the thing didn't work. You're supposed to be able to control the iPod with your HU controls.

I've sent Crutchfield and USA-SPEC emails. No response yet.

You're NOT supposed to be able to control the Ipod with the USA spec...you will only be able to GET the sound into your bose HU. If the sound is coming through, it's working fine.
