Replacing speakers on 5.5 Maxima

did a quick search but i couldn't find anything.
is there a how-to for replacing the speakers?

if i don't plan on adding an amp to the new speakers, would i still have to run new speaker wires into the door?

No. the gauge of the factory speaker wire is fine if your using the stock hu and in most cases, they are still fine even with an aftermarket head unit. When you start to push more power thru the wires from a high power amp, then it's recommended to upgrade the speaker wires at that time.

Do you have Bose? (or did you previously) Do you already have an aftermarket radio? If so, how is it installed, i.e. a Pac/Scosche adapter, wired with RCAs, etc.

In either case, the answer would be no, you dont have to run new speaker wire. And the factory grommet in the door is a harness anyway, through which it is near impossible to run anything. But we will need answers to the above questions to help you further.

So you're still running the Bose speakers?

Then no you can't just swap out your speakers. You would have to run new speaker wire or bypass the Bose amp.
