Have a system in your Max?
Have a system in your Max?
This may coincide with my previosu thread but i have a system also in my car....i think the guy may have wired it wrong, because I got it rewired and now, the bass is wayyyyyy to strong.....I can barely hear the words on any song, so my brother said if I get new hi's that it should fix the problem....any other insight from anyone else with a system?
P.S.- the ledge under my back windsheild rattles a lot tooooo :-/

What speakers do you have in the front/rear? What amp is powering them? Are they coaxials or components? Do you have a crossover or hpf/lpf used on the amp? If so, where are the crossover/hpf/lpf points? Slopes? ....etc....
I had the same problem when my rear polks coaxials were in for warranty replacement. The 2 12" subs were way too strong for the speakers up front. When I got them back, I amped them and the music is perfect now. Also, make sure the gain is set right. Bass boost should only be set for around 6db unless you are trying to look big and bad with your road vibrating bass. the bass boost doesnt just turn up the bass, it exagerates it and throws it off a bit. If you are looking for perfect sounding music use around 6db bass boost.

If you can still see or breath easily, its not too loud. You just need a frontstage that can keep up with it.
