shouldn't be bad, the bad thing about mounting it there is so much easier for a thief to make off with it

that and you have to disconnect the wires/the amp itself if you want to take the box out temporarily..

Not typically recommended. The vibration can always shear off internal components inside the amp. If it's a good solid enclosure, then there's less to worry about.

Think about all the bumps your car hits. Amy impact from a well made box is nothing compared to going over the speed bumps on my road every morning.

Like was said, makes it a theifs dream come true and has to be disconnected if you wanna take out the box, but those issues can be worked around.

mounted my amp on my box so it can be entirely removed easily by me. only have to unscrew the 3 wires and RCAs. if someone decides to steal it, a few minutes to unscrew it elsewhere is less valuable to me.

and the vibrations are everywhere, so that's poor logic.

If you secure your box to the car, you likely won't have any problems. I have my box secured with U bolts to the back of my seat. It would be extremely difficult to steal it unless someone stole the car and brought it somewhere where they could take out the rear seat.

Also, I would recommend going to the hardware store and finding some star drive screws. If someone breaks into your car, the odds are they won't have this bit and will have a tough time stealing whatever you have bolted down with them.

I bought some and tried to unscrew them with a phillips head and couldn't do it, the bit wouldn't hold. Maybe certain ones will, but it's pretty tough.

This is what they look like:

Using those screws is a good idea.

http://www.securityscrews.com/ if you want to take that one step further. No way in hell the theif will have a spanner or snake eye bit unless they've been in your car, seen them, and went to buy the bits.

Security screws rawk!
