Experince with PAC SWI-X adapter
I am planning to replace the OEM stereo on my 2003 Maxima. I am looking at Pioneer Avid D2 unit.
I want to keep my steering wheel controls and i keep reading that i need a PAC adapter.
What is your experience with PAC SWI-X adapter? How easy is to configure this device? Do i need to purchase anything else before i install it? (extra adapters, etc)
Thank you!

You need a PAC SWI-PS. Its like the SWI-X but itll hardwire the steering wheel controls to the radio instead of infrared, so youll have a much better response. Fairly easy to install, and nothing else is needed besides standard kit/harness for the install.

I'm mostly interested in Pioneer Avic D1/D2 or N2.
Thanks!

My PAC SWIX controller works perfect. You have to get used the response time. With OEM is was a little tap on the button, with the PAC it's more like a full push. Overall, I am very pleased with the ease of install and the ease of use with the SWIX.
I have it mated to an Alpine HU.
