KEEP BLOWING FUESes?!?!?!

heres the deal

I have my fairly new alpine mono amp hooked up to my bran new type x sub, slammed for about a month with the amp mounted to the back of my seat. Well it was mounted pretty ****y so i dicided to drill it into the back of my box, so i disconnected all the wires going to it and drilled it into the box , reconnected everything and then i turn the car on and i immediatly blow 2 of the 4 fuses. SO i replace them and then it does it again, and again, and again, I checked all the wires and they are not crossed or anything. One thing i did do was switched my ground from one of the strut mount bolts to another but i did clean up the bolt with a wire brush. What could be going wrong , is my amp toast?!?!?!?!? help?!?!?!

you didn't accidently pinch the speaker wire when you mounted the amp did you? or maybe drilled and damaged the wire inside...

No, and i also tried disconnecting both the speaker wires/rcas and started the car with just the remote/ground/power wires and still blew the same 2 fuses. I mean i hope this isnt some sort of internal problem? I mean u think if i opened up the amp and started pokin around i could see something busted on the circuit board? If my power wire is some how touching the frame of the car it would short out the amp correct? but i would figure it would blow all 4 instead of the same 2. Anyone else with a little more electrical knowledge PLEASE step in with anything.

eh, i rather not open the amp if you're not familiar with electronics. so you basically moved the amp from the seat, to the box, reconnected everything and now it won't work? i would double check the lines again to see if they're secured, or not accidently damaged.

what amp is this btw?

Take the amp back off the box. Clearly its cursed.

Or what I'd do is pull off the sub and see if your screws are hitting anything.

one of the screws that the amp is being mounted with could be touching the magnet of the subwoofer, what size screws did you use ?

Beware mounting an amp to a sub box. The vibrations from the sub can damage/loosen the electronics inside the amp over time.

Double check all your wires to make sure they didn't get pinched or anything and touching metal. Make sure your mounting screws on your amp aren't touching anything behind them. Get a DMM and check all the leads going to the amp--power, remote turn on, ground, and speaker wires. This will definitely tell you if there is a short somewhere. As far as mounting amps to a sub box, it will be fine. Vibrations do not cause an amp to perform badly. Just as long the sub is made out of 3/4" or more MDF, it will be fine from vibrations. I used my sub box for over 8 years for my amp rack and never had a problem.

Success........I <3 the org, thanx guys i feel like an idiot now, I was so busy checking my wires/ground/connections that i didnt bother to take the amp off the box. One of the screws must have periced one of the speaker wires inside, i didnt take out the sub and look but the screws wernt long enough to touch the magnet.
