navi install finishing up... need electronic experts and engineers etc.
Okay so its been a while since i and a few others have been in pursuit of the OEM navi in 4th gen. Along the line weve been told just get the aftermarket stuff which is true, and others have given up. Not me im stubborn and I will finish this.
So this picks up when was about to go buy the ac-auto amp which is necessary for the system to work so that we may adjust climate control on navi screen. HOWEVER i ended up getting a 96 i30 5speed.
Now Im continuing the project in the 96 i30. I was reviewing the HEATING AND AIR section of the FSM for the 96 i30, and I noticed that the 96 i30 auto amp (the unit which controls the fan motor/vents etc. in the climate control system) is not built into the pushbutton control unit that is on the dash above the radio. It is built into the BCM (black box rite in front of the gear shifter under the console). Unlike the 98-99 models which have the auto-amp built into the pushbutton control on the dash.
so now to the real technical stuff, similar to the qx4 where I got the navigation from, and the 99 i30 (4thgen) with navi), the 96 has three connections from the control unit to the auto amp. CLK, TX, RX (communication lines sending user input to auto amp) and well there is ground and illumination etc. but the CLK, TX, RX are the most important.
Does it seem feasible for the qx4 navi unit would send the same signals that the 96 i30’s pushbutton controls send?
please review the HA parts of the FSM for hte 96i30, 99i30(with nav), Qx4 that I have included and tell me if what Im saying makes sense and is logical.
