Looking for Opinions on a SPL 12" sub

Looking for a New SPL 12" sub. I have a 1.75 cubic foot box that it will go in and a hifonics tx1005d amp pushing around 700watts. I'm looking for a 12" that will really pound. I mainly use my sub only for rap music, but I also listen to linkin park and system of a down, POD stuff like that which also have some strong bass but require the sub to respond a little quicker, so I'm wonderig what you guys recommend. I really want the bass to pound hard. I have a stock HU with otherwise stock speakers so I'm obviously not a big SQL guy. What do you guys recommend?

Me personally, although i am biased with my first choice, i would run a digital design sub (ddaudio.com). I'd probably go with their 2500 series or 3500 series in your case. My next suggestion would be to run a mmats pro series or the procast series 12. I think they call them the p2.5 and p3 now respectively. Trust me with either of these brands you will not be disappointed with service, reliability, and performance.

There's a difference between subs for SPL and subs designed to play music. You probably really want something more than a one note wonder.

Your right I am not going into competition with it and it needs to be responsive enough to handle a faster beat like found in linkin park type music

I second Digital Designs. THey do get stupid loud, but not the cleanest of subs I've heard in person. Your 700 watts on tap is right in a RL-p's alley.

my friend let me borrow his 15" elemental design ed15a.22 in a sealed box . Thing pounds with my jl 1000/1 its plenty of bass and real clean too hits a ton of frequencies. They are hard to find now but i was absolutely amazed with the bass responce for a 15 i am very impressed with it. It hits nice and tight.

I checked out the link you posted. How mayn dB do you think this thing could possibly put out. I know there is HUGE factors that need to be takin into account, but right now the box is behind my passenger seat in the rear occupants footwell (so the box is in the car with me, not in the trunk which I have found makes it A LOT louder). The box is ported but its only 1.75 cu/ft instead of the 2.0 cu/ft recommended for that sub.

They have gone threw some huge changes. Not that that's a good excuse but it's bound to happen when you switch production facilities and merge companies. Fact is the product sounds good, bumps, and is reliable.

Oh, I'm not bashing their products at all...I owned a brahma 12 in the past so I'm well aware of what those things are capable of. But when someone sends a product in for a recone, and takes over 7 months to get back to you...that just ain't right...
