ok, ive decided to go with 2 JL 10w3's so i need lots more power... OgreDave suggested a Lanzer amp, and after looking at the Vibes http://www.national-electronics.com/...ibrantamps.htm thats the specifics on each model, this is the prices (might have to scroll to the vibes) http://www.national-electronics.com/lanzar.htm do you think this is acceptable?? which model will be enough for the JL's. im going with an enclosed box, going to bridge the amp to a mono, and run them like this. the subs are 250watt DVC. thanks for the help

(the around $200 price is attractive, but if its not going to work well, what would you recommend for decent quality at a decent price to power these subs well??)

yup.. that amp has some amazing specs, but I'm almost afraid to run something that costs that much and boasts that much power.. it's one of those "you get what you pay for" type of things.. and a good 1200W amp usually runs over $1000. so a $220 amp with that much power really scares me.

but then again, the carsound review says it's pretty good.. the tests they ran indicate it meets the stated power specs (which Lanzar has always been good to exceed their ratings).. BUT there's got to be a catch. a $200, 1200W amp either has to sound like ***, perform like ***, or not last more than the 90 day warranty period..

just my thoughts... specs say it's good, but how does it last in the real world?

Really, so you have no faith in any class D amps? Most class D amps under $500 can make 1400w easy..

Matt is spoiled by Class A/B monster 1000Wrms amps

Of all the Class D amps out there the only one I've tried with any sucess is the DEI 1100D. The others just seem to have some overblown specs that don't jive with their asking prices.

If you want to look at a Lanzar amp, look at their Optidrive amplifiers. theseare their best models and have a very good following amongst people in the industry that I know.

DEI.. hmm, ive got one of those in my living room with yer name on it.. literally... BAHAHAH.

So, you really dont have faith in Class D amps either? Not even the small step up from the Lanzar to the JBL BP1200.1, even tho many people use them, and get great results?

Bunch of spoiled ppl you both are!

I never said that. Just that with the plethora of Class D amps out there right now the only one's I'd buy myself at the DEI ones. Just from personal experience they are great performers for the buck. Now if I could afford a Zapco or Xtant Class D I might change my mind
