Sounds like thunder

I just installed some Boston speakers in my max. I am currently running them off my deck. When I first turn the car on, and the music hasnt started yet, it kinda sounds like thunder comming from my speakers (i think the rears only) once music is playing everything sounds good. Ideas? What did i mess up?

Did you install these speakers with an amp to power them?

Might need a better ground on the amp for the subs.

So is your sub starting to play before your speakers?

I guess it kinda sounds like that. I think he is right on the better ground. My wires could be re-done back there. I have just been lazy.

What do most of you guys do to hold your sub boxes in place? I have a 2x12" Sealed box in my 99 Max SE. I mounted the amp and the capcitor to the back of the box, but the damn box always moves around, thus my shady connections. I was thinking like bungy cords or something.

I had a fancy MFD layout before that looked all nice and nothing moved, could access the tire and all that, but it weight too much. like, i noticed the back end lower then the front.

Any "light weight" suggestions or pictures?

When I first turn my car on the deck goes through like a "welcome" screen er whatever, thats when the (i think) subs make the noise. Then the deck starts playing music. Either the noise is drowned out, or it stops.

Use brackets to mount your box to the chasis. My box weighs so much, that I doesn't even hardly move.

Is the noise like a loud pop? Or is it a constant bass note sound?
Your subs might be receiveing a signal before your speakers do.

No pops. Got rid of pops when I got rid of My bose. Good speakers, but mine poped between tracks for some reason. (which i know and dont feel like typing)
I would say more of a constant bass note that varies in frequency. All low. I know what you are getting at and I THINK you are wrong. Its not much being played. more of a distortion.

Gotcha. My subs make a loud pop when I turn of the power to the cd or remove the cd while it is playing. It doesn't do it when I turn of the radio. I scared my mom with it the other day.
