Bluetooth cell phone car kit
Ok I have been looking into a handfree kit for my Max. I saw the Parrot CK3100 and it's Ok Also the Motorola HF820 and IHF1000. Anyone have any of these or something else installed in there Max? If so:
1. How was the install?
2. How good is the sound quailty?
3. Where you able to get the radio to mute?
4. Is you have a Factory Navi. How does this work with they BT Kit?
Any insight on this would be great. Please feel free to post up pictures of your install.
P.S. I did a search and came up with nothing. me-->

Btw, my search came up with a decent number of Bluetooth threads, several of which were in the Audio and Electronics forum, so you might want to try looking around there as well.

At the install shop I work at, we put one in a guy's 2003 BMW 745Li. The kit was the Motorola IHF1000 with the voice recognition.
1. The install was a little tricky powering it up due to the BMW. Any other car
should not give you a problem. Just power, acc, and ground.
2. The sound quality was great from the microphone and external speaker. Since the customer wanted to keep the factory BMW audio and navi system, te external speaker did the trick.
3. Radio mute, no due to the fact the BMW radio wasnt compatible. The steering wheel control was used to mute when a call is in progress.
4. Not sure, I am guessing no but I do not know it all so don't quote me.
Hope this helps

I have the HF820, install was done by Pearl96Max, he makes it look easy.. But you’d have to double check with him on its difficulty.
As for units itself, its top notch. The phone compatibility is what makes the voice recognition so accurate. I have a Motorola phone though.

Do you have Bose in your Maxima (look at your dash speaker covers)? If you do, the only plug and play harness adapter that I know of is one that I build. It is called the HBBH-1 and both Parrotkits.com and Michael at nicestuffonline.com both sell it. It they ship you a standard Nissan harness such as the QCNis-1, you are in for big trouble with Bose. The sound will be so loud and screechy that you may go through the sunroof if it is open
Good luck. Howard
