Entry level SQ: Should I replace the stock speaker wire?

Sounds like a PITA. With my setup, will the upgrade be audible? I won't be running anything crazy, SLC265s in the front powered by a DA3400.4, with the rear stock 6.5s powered by an AVIC-D2.

how are you wiring the fronts from the amp? The amp is a 4channel amp, why dont you run it to the back also? If you dont, replacing the rear wires wont do much since it is powered by a HU. In the long run it is worth it incase you run anything in the rear.

If I power the rears with the amp, it's 50x4. I figured 50 wasn't enough for the rainbows up front. I was going to bridge the amp.

I have the same amp and speakers up front. Bridge the amp, it gets quite a bit louder. Something it took me a little while to figure out was to plug the rcas into either both reds or both whites (I've never bridged a 4ch amp, but this is how you get stereo).

Ok, then yah bridge it because I run 85rms all around and it is needed for my SLC's and SL's. I will probably upgrade to 100rms all around after I complete my sub upgrade. You dont need to run speaker wire to the rears then.

Running new wires to the front door is a PITA. I just used the stock wires to the doors, but ran new wires for the tweeters and obviously from the amp to the xovers.

Just run all new wires for the front. It isnt hard at all. That stupid grommet is the only thing that held me up.

4th gens FTL.

j/k I seriously wouldn't mind a 4th gen (same engine, less weight). The 5th gen has an atrocious turning radius-cruise liners turn sharper.

It's a little different for 5th gens.

you think the 5th gen has a large turning radius? try driving a 6th gen...

anyhow, definately run new wires. the grommet on my 6th gen was a b*tch to work with, but persistence pays off. I have four 14 gauge wire crammed into the grommet.
