re: 96 maxima bose

so i was looking a the harness diagram today and i see the + and - parts for the speakers. so i decide to just get an rca cable, split one channel and just connect the bare wires to the harness. for example, on the harness i would put the wires into plug #1, and #2 for the front left speakers. when i turned the car on i heard nothing. what am i overlooking? or are the amps not being turned on? and what's the 2 prong connector on the back of the headunit?

and why did i get banned? i realized i brought up and old thread, but it was one that was never answerd and i wanted to know the answer and it's not against the rules.
