How to kill Bose Tweeters

I added aftermarket tweeters to my bose speakers and hooked them up directly to my sony HU but the bose tweeters are distorting at high volume. Do I just cut the wire? or is there some other way I should get rid of them?

Cut the wires on your bose tweeters, then hook up the new tweeters to those wires.

Don't run the new tweets directly off the HU.

I don't know, depends on the tweet. The HU does not x-over high enough to not damage the tweet.

Also the power will be distributed better. The tweeters run at a different resistance than the mids, at least they should. I don't know how it would work with your hybrid setup.

I just read the packaging they have a built-in crossover so they should be good. I just hope the resistance doesn't cause any problems. It was fine in my old camry and it has been fine thus far in the max. You guys will be the first to know if they blow.

And when you tape them make sure you tape the left and right seperately.
