Hey guys, I'm looking into buying a Kenwood DDX-7017,6019 or 8017 doubledin headunit for my Max just wondering if anyone had any pics and their thoughts pros/cons? Did you wire it to the stock bose speakers? I plan on wiring to the stock bose for now and adding my Sub with amp. Thanks in advance.

 

well... I put in a ddx-6019 this past Saturday, it's a great unit (at least for my needs) but I have a GXE so no bose. I'd take a pic for you but I need to get a dash kit in there soon.

...If you're planning on wiring to the stock bose, you're going to need the adapter for it or splice an rca for a preout to the amps

 

I had a 8017 in my 6th Gen, 4 of them to be exact!!! I would not reccomend this unit, too many issues. Just my two cents.

i'm planning on getting it myself next week for my '06 and i think it's going to be a great unit. we sell it at my job (though not me) and from looking at it and playing with it it seems awesome. online reviews only praise it as well so that's a good thing. i'm hoping the MPG playback quality will be good cause i got 8.5GB worth of music videos waiting for the dvd player to get here to be burned

 

This is my ex-02 with a 7015. I thought it was a good unit overall, no problems, just wished I had GPS.

 

Thanks Guys, well I went with the 8017 as sound quality was at the top of my list, now I need to save up for the speakers already have the sub and amp. Also looking for a reverse camera? Any suggestions?

 

me too im thinking of getting a double din . IS there a part number for the double din dash kit??? or anyone know where to get one??
