has anyone heard of this model yet? i'm just curious since i checked DEI's site and it's not listed on there. reason i ask is because i went to get a new alarm today and wanted the python 881xp but the owner of the shop just got a few of the 990's in and he gave me that one instead of the 881xp at no extra charge since i was waiting for almost 3 hours before they worked on my car. from what he told me the 990 has a 1 mile range while the 881xp is only 1/4 mile. i figured what the heck might as well get it but i'm trying to do some more reasearch on it and can't find any info =/ everything looks legit just not sure why it's not listed on DEI's site. on and the remote i got the antenna is slightly longer than the 881's o_O

yes its true they do have the 1 mile range now.

Yes theyre new...SST/ Spread Spectrum. Although the antenna should be smaller rather than larger.

the antenna on my remote is longer than the 881xp's...the guy told me that helps with the reception. but i like the look of the smaller antenna tho. feels like i'm holding a mini cell phone sometimes haha

I was referring to the antenna on the windsjield..its smaller now than previous models. Although yes the one on the remote is about 1/4" larger.

if you put any device like that to your chin, your range extends by a little bit, because it uses your whole body as an antenna
